Teaching Experience

 

                Teacher/Program Coordinator-Campfire USA

·                 Planned and implemented special program events to Camp Fire USA standards: using Campfire USA curriculum materials as well as individually designed projects to address social and academic needs of program participants

Substitute Teacher- Saint Paul Public Schools

·                 Long-term position teaching ELL and Guided Reading to students in Kindergarten, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades at Museum Magnet Elementary (position lasted three and one half months).

·                 Cooperatively planned with classroom teachers to provide students with opportunity for immersion learning while receiving specialized support in the classroom.

Program Development and Arts Teaching

 

TRACES Center for History and Culture

·        Developed educational programs and descriptions for middle school and high school students, created partnership programs while cooperating with local educational and cultural institutions, created and managed network database files, performed community outreach to educate the public on this newly developed educational and cultural resource.

Friends School of Minnesota


·        Developed and taught summer arts classes in bookbinding, papermaking, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, planned and taught a class focusing on a group story writing and bookbinding, and team developed and taught a summer courses for 2 years entitled Art and Nature in the City (first through eighth grades).

Internship- Minnesota Center for Book Arts 2000

·        Planned and implemented family and community programs, including project design, event scheduling, budgetary management, artist and volunteer coordination, and correspondence with recipient organizations.

·        Developed lesson plans, organized materials, and taught youth workshops in papermaking, bookbinding, printmaking, and fiber sculpture.
